December 2024 Monthly Goal Thread

I have had my cottage bakery since the summer of 2021. It's been a wild ride since then. I went from knowing NOTHING about sugar cookie decorating in February 2021 to making cookies for a neighbor's wedding in July 2021. 

Then the orders started to slowly trickle in and my cottage bakery was up and running. Sitting at my computer this morning looking back on it all I am amazed at how everything has grown. 

I did it all one small step at a time. Each little thing that I complete builds on top of everything else. Today I am in the middle of learning how to manage and develop my Shopify site. I have built a separate online community of bakers that I am helping to grow their own businesses. 

This aspect of my business is the one I am most proud of. Don't get me wrong, I like icing cookies and handing over a gorgeous order to a customer in person. But I LOVE helping someone else grow their business and secure their financial future. That is where my passion lies. 

To that end I am going to help YOU set some small goals that will pay off for your bakery in the long run. Commit to three things you want to accomplish this month. Three things that will move your business forward. 

Your goals are not about getting a certain number of sales. Here we are going to work ON the business and not IN the business. 

This month I am focused on building out my website more and working on the integrations. There is a lot of backend items that look like a jumbled mess of computer coding.. Bleh, it's overwhelming. But I am clicking on things and learning what it all means. This morning I started working on my Pinterest board to integrate that into my site. I am also working on establishing my affiliate program. Lastly, I want to secure three more corporate orders and I have to get my Christmas pre-sales out to my local customers. 

I know I mentioned more than three items for myself... but that is okay. I will get them done.
